Playlouder: Beautiful South Suck!
BEAUTIFUL SOUTH SUCK! You've gone too far this time Heaton! 11 Aug 2004 by Daniel Robson Courtesy of Warren Fletcher
The Beautiful South are set to return with a new album of dreadful, dreadful covers, PlayLouder is ashamed to report and waving it's fist in the air like fatty Heaton and Co. have just put their ball through our window.
'Goldiggas' - the follow-up to 2003's 'Gaze' - includes countrified versions of 'You're The One That I Want' from Grease, S Club's 'Don't Stop Moving', The Ramones' 'Blitzkrieg Bop' and that excellent Lush song 'Ciao!' that originally featured Jarvis Cocker.
The lardy larger (sic) quaffing Paul Gascoigne lookalike probably thinks this is funny. Be warned - as amusing as this all may sound, we've heard 'Goldiggas' and it really is quite bad; the cheesiest album imaginable, in fact. Still, if that hasn't put you off, you can look out for it very soon. You sorry twat.
It's even worse than the new Green Day album - TALK!
